Where April Went...

April was a busy month for me again, mostly in all areas of life other than writing. Though, I'm making some progress there, too....

Getting back to Isiterra....

I've been scattered all over the place except the internet lately, but, somewhere, elsewhere, I did mention something would be coming last Friday.

Sunset in the High Desert

10/09/2016
When I moved to the High Desert nine years ago, I knew I would love the wide, open sky. Especially at night, filled with bright stars. I had no idea how spectacular the sunsets would be.

Puppy Love

Smokey

Yesterday (Feb. 13th) marked the 32nd anniversary of my first dog's birth. Though I wouldn't meet him for another seven weeks, in time for my birthday, I often referred to him as my little Valentine. Part yellow Lab, part Golden Retriever, Smokey was 100% my best friend for the next twelve years.

Midnight Rambling: Inspiration. Motivation. Purpose.

When I start writing a story, I don't think at all about themes. Characters and crazy plots, sure. But, themes? Those work their way into the story along the way.

There are probably more underlying themes in my Society in the Shadow of Civilization series than even I realize. Some are more subtle than others. Maybe too subtle.

On the surface, it's a roller coaster of emotions following a woman who finds out nothing about her life is what she thought it was, and her journey to finding her place in both the real world, and another time. It's also a tale of time-crossed lovers. But, there's more to it than that....

Rent!

It only took twenty (plus) years, but, I finally saw Rent on Saturday, at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.

The show is touring, and has left L.A., but the rest of the tour schedule is here. If you happen to live in one of the areas listed, I highly recommend seeing it!

Hello 2017!

It didn't really feel like a New Year until Monday. It bothers me when January 1st falls on a Sunday, because then they go and push the Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl to Monday the 2nd, and it just throws me off. Sorry. It's tradition.
